Valuation for Expropriations

Expropriations, as an instrument of public law consisting of the coercive transfer of ownership from a private individual to the public administration, or to another individual, for reasons of public interest and upon payment of compensation, have a significant valuation component.

This legal instrument implies that the expropriated party is entitled to compensation equivalent to the value of the asset of which they are deprived.

The normal process would be for the person to be expropriated and the administration to reach an agreement on the price of the asset that will be subject to expropriation; however, in many cases this is not achieved, so the determination of the same is carried out by means of what is known as the fair price procedure or value, one of whose purposes is to determine the expropriatory fair price.

It is at this moment that Euroval can intervene to carry out the valuation of assets subject to expropriations and in this way, initiating the corresponding administrative procedure, so that the expropriated person can obtain the highest possible value for the expropriated asset.
